Weimar and Goethe are inextricably linked. The great poet Goethe was the town's privy councilor, a man of great energy but also, and most importantly for the palace project, a man of many talents. On behalf of Duke Carl August, this privy councilor had everything under control - as a poet laureate and a scholar, as a statesman, a theater director, a librarian and sometimes also as a lover. This tour focuses on his work, life and influence in Weimar, still visible on every corner in Weimar.

During this tour you will follow the Goethe traces to the Goethe house, the National Museum with the permanent exhibition, then pass the unique historical library of Anna Amalia, the Goethe-Schiller-Archive (with Goethe's hand-written estate) to the famous Goethe Garden house in the wide Ilmpark. Most of the sights related to Goethe are part of the UENSCO World Heritage “Classical Weimar”. Before going back to Jena you will have a little snack at the villa Haar.
